This victory in Dota 2 adds to the Philippines’ success in esports, as players from the country also secured first place in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, a mobile MOBA.

Although esports will not be a medal event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, the IOC and Intel have partnered to organize an esports competition in Tokyo. The tournament will feature Rocket League and Street Fighter V, leading up to the Olympic Games.
