Immortal Treasure III Finally Released for Dota 2 International 8 Battle Pass
After waiting patiently, the highly anticipated third Immortal Treasure lootbox from the International 8 Battle Pass is finally available. All Battle Pass owners can access Immortal Treasure III, with additional units being given to higher-leveled passes every 30 levels. This lootbox contains a variety of Immortal-quality cosmetics for select heroes.
Heroes such as Shadow Shaman, Dark Willow, Queen of Pain, Batrider, Zeus, and Naga Siren have been chosen to receive this new Immortal swag. Each hero’s cosmetic item adds a special effect to one of their abilities. For example, Shadow Shaman’s Censer of Gliss off-hand weapon not only increases the size of the weapon, but also changes the color of his Ether Shock ability to green bolts of lightning. Additionally, ethereal snakes in the same color appear around the targets that the ability hits. Every hero included in the lootbox has their own unique ability alteration.
Another hero, Witch Doctor, has also received an Immortal, but it is classified as “ultra rare.” The Masque of Awaleb bundle includes two Immortals: a large mask with purple fluid coming out of the mouth and a matching mask for the monkey on Witch Doctor’s back. The first Immortal changes the visual effect of the Maledict ability, causing the skin of any affected hero to bubble as if poisoned. The second Immortal alters the color and appearance of Paralyzing Cask, transforming it into a mustard yellow projectile resembling a durian fruit. The Masque of Awaleb bundle is considered one of the best-looking bundles released so far.
Since the release of Immortal Treasure III, the prize pool for TI8 has surpassed that of last year, currently sitting just under one percent ahead. This is a positive sign for the community, as it raises hopes of breaking the all-time prize pool record set at nearly $25 million last year.
