Everything Missing in the 2022 Dota 2 Battle Pass
The long wait for the 2022 Dota 2 battle pass finally ended on Sept. 1. This latest battle pass, like the previous ones, includes arcanas, immortal items, taunts, sprays, and emoticons. However, despite the promising content highlighted in the official battle pass blog, fans quickly noticed that there were significant omissions.
Missing Features in the 2022 Battle Pass
Numerous features from last year’s battle passes did not make it to the 2022 battle pass, much to the disappointment of the community. In fact, these features were not even scheduled for Part II of the battle pass, leading to further dissatisfaction.
The missing features in the 2022 Dota 2 battle pass include:
– Creeps and terrain
– Gambling mechanics like Rylai’s Wheel and Secret Shop
– Third Immortal Chest
– Portal and Shovel mechanics to level up the battle pass
– Achievements
– Wagering mechanics for betting on match outcomes
– The third arcana (only two arcanas available)
– Arcana vote for next year’s recipient
– PvE (Player vs. Environment) content
– Fewer treasures compared to previous battle passes
– “Coming soon” International themed versus screen
– Mini-games
– Baby Roshan
– Roshan replica as the level 2000 reward
It’s worth noting that all of these features were present in last year’s Dota 2 battle passes.
Impact on The International’s Prize Pool
Apart from the missing content, this year’s battle pass release schedule poses challenges for the finalization of The International’s (TI) prize pool. The battle pass allows players to contribute funds to TI, but the timing of the 2022 battle pass release puts Valve at a disadvantage compared to previous years.
In previous years, battle passes were released 120 days before TI, providing ample time to surpass previous prize pools. However, the 2022 battle pass went live almost 60 days before the TI 2022 finals, giving it less time to generate the same amount of revenue.
This discrepancy in release timing and missing content may result in a lower prize pool for TI 2022 compared to previous years.
