The Battle Pass for Dota 2 Fans is Hard to Resist This Year

The 2017 Battle Pass: What to Expect

The International 7 is fast approaching, which means it’s time to get excited about the 2017 Battle Pass for Dota 2.

This year’s Battle Pass offers a completely new co-op campaign, unique items, in-game wagers, and even new terrain for the Dota 2 map. It’s a tempting package for any Dota 2 fan.

Unlock Rewards and Level Up

Players can unlock rewards by increasing the level of their Battle Pass, which can be done in various ways. Completing achievements in regular games is one way to earn experience, although it’s a relatively slow rate. Alternatively, players can purchase levels directly from the Dota 2 store. In addition, Battle Pass owners can increase their entire team’s levels using Battle Point Tokens, a new feature introduced this year.

Battle Point Tokens are placed before the start of a match and have three different values. Winning the match rewards the player with an increased amount of Battle Points. However, there is a limit to the number of tokens that can be used per week, and the only way to get more tokens is by increasing the level of the Battle Pass.

Exciting Unlockables and Multiplayer Campaign

As players level up their Battle Pass, they will unlock new items, announcers, and even better towers depending on their level. Additionally, Battle Pass owners will also have access to a multiplayer campaign called “Siltbreaker.” This co-op campaign consists of two chapters and allows players to team up with three other players. The first part of the campaign will be released in May, while the final chapter is set to launch in July.

New Chat Wheel Sounds and Crowd-Sourcing

The Battle Pass introduces a new feature that allows players to play sounds from the in-game chat wheel. In addition to the usual helpful phrases, players can now play drum rolls and sad trombones, much to their opponent’s displeasure. Famous soundbites from Dota 2 esports broadcasts have also been included.

Furthermore, crowd-sourcing for the International 7 has begun with the release of the Battle Pass. Since 2013, the prize pool for the Dota 2 world championship has been increased through the sale of Battle Passes. Last year, the sale of Battle Passes boosted the prize pool by an incredible $19.8 million. With the extensive content offered in this year’s Battle Pass, it’s likely that the previous year’s record will be shattered.
