Tundra Esports Loses the Aegis of Champions After International 2022 Victory
Tundra Esports, the champions of Dota 2’s International 2022, experienced a major setback just hours after their victory. They announced on Twitter that they had lost the Aegis of Champions, the legendary symbol of Dota’s highest achievement.
The Search for the Missing Aegis
During the post-TI celebrations, Tundra misplaced the Aegis, which had been passed around amongst the team and other members. Despite efforts to find it, the Aegis remains missing, and the team has reached out to the community and Singapore for help in locating it.
Community’s Memes and Offers in the Hunt for the Aegis
The Dota community has been actively involved in the search for the Aegis, with various personalities even jokingly claiming responsibility for the theft. Iceiceice offered to sell the trophy, while others suggested that it had been sent to TI11 favorites PSG.LGD. However, OG has offered one of their two Aegis to Tundra as a temporary replacement.
A Misunderstanding with Valve Employee
In an update, a Valve employee confirmed that she had picked up the Aegis to prepare it for travel, causing some confusion. Tundra was unaware that Valve personnel would be taking the Aegis back after the celebration to help ship it home from Singapore. It appears to be a misunderstanding, and the Aegis will be returned to Tundra.
