Team Spirit Wins The International 10
From regional qualifiers to an impressive lower bracket run, Team Spirit emerges as the champions of Dota 2’s The International 10. They defeated PSG.LGD in a thrilling grand final to claim the Aegis of Champions.
The Cinderella Story
Led by Miposhka, the only player with TI experience, Team Spirit becomes the first CIS team to win The International since Na’Vi did it a decade ago. They take home a share of the $40 million prize pool, earning $18,208,300.
The Epic Grand Final
In game one, Spirit showcased their signature playstyle and secured a victory. Despite their best efforts, LGD struggled to counter Spirit’s tempo and suffered heavy losses.
Game two saw LGD adopting a more aggressive strategy, forcing Spirit to play a composed style of Dota. However, Miposhka’s Bane and Collapse’s Magnus led Spirit to another win.
LGD regrouped for game three, devising a plan to neutralize Spirit’s comfort around Collapse’s Magnus. Their strategy paid off, with LGD dominating the game and securing a victory.
Game four seemed dire for Spirit, with LGD building a substantial lead. However, Spirit fought back, winning crucial teamfights and pressuring LGD’s base. In the end, Spirit emerged victorious.
A Historic Triumph
Throughout their journey, Team Spirit defeated formidable opponents, including Fnatic, OG, Virtus.pro, Invictus Gaming, Team Secret, and LGD. Their triumph brings the Aegis back to Eastern Europe after a decade.
Despite falling short once again, LGD remains determined to break their curse and bring the Aegis back to China in future tournaments.
