Team Secret becomes the first team to alter its roster post-The International 7

Team Secret Replaces Two Players After The International 7

The International 7 marked the end of Dota 2’s competitive season, and teams are now making changes to their rosters. One of the first western teams to make a move is Team Secret.

Team Secret has decided to replace carry player Pyo “MP” No-a and offlaner Maurice “KheZu” Gutmann. However, they will retain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov, Yazied “YapzOr” Jaradat, and Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng for the upcoming tournament season.

Reason for the Changes

Team Secret’s decision to not renew the contracts of MP and KheZu comes after their 9-12th place finish at The International 7. Despite winning the European qualifier for the event, they had to start their playoff run in the lower bracket. They were eventually eliminated by Team Liquid in a 2-1 series.

MP’s removal was decided immediately after their elimination, while KheZu’s removal was finalized after the tournament.

Performance of MP and KheZu

Both MP and KheZu joined Team Secret in late 2016 and had mixed success during their time on the roster. Their best performance was a second-place finish at the $100,000 DOTA Summit 7 on June 18.

The Beginnings of Team Secret

Team Secret was founded in 2014 by Puppey and Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi after they left Na’Vi. KuroKy went on to win The International 7 with Team Liquid.
