Team Radiant emerge victorious in The International 2019 All-Star Match

Natus Vincere’s SoNNeikO shines in The International 2019 All-Star Match

In an intense battle where players had no control over their heroes, Natus Vincere’s Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev demonstrated his skills and helped Team Radiant secure victory in The International 2019 All-Star Match.

Top fantasy players compete in All Random Deathmatch

This year’s All-Star game featured the top 10 fantasy players from all teams at TI9 in an All Random Deathmatch (ARDM) mode.

ARDM is a special game mode in Dota 2 where players receive a random hero each time they respawn after dying. This means there’s no continuity and items become unpredictable in terms of their usefulness.

Each team has 40 respawns, which act as their lives. The first team to reach 45 total kills, exhaust all of their respawns, or destroy the enemy Ancient is declared the winner.

Team Radiant emerges victorious

Team Radiant, consisting of Syed “SumaiL” Hassan, Ding “Dy” Cong, Michael “miCKe” Vu, Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev, and SoNNeikO, were the favorites due to their deep hero pools.

On the other hand, Team Dire—Johan “pieliedie” Åström, Lu “Somnus丶M” Yao, Timothy “Tims” Randrup, Michał “Nisha” Jankowski, and Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi—appeared to take the match more seriously.

SoNNeikO named MVP

After an intense battle, Team Radiant emerged victorious, with SoNNeikO being named the MVP for his outstanding performance. However, pieliedie stole the spotlight by taking a bite out of the all-star trophy—a piece of cheese—to entertain the crowd.

Shortly after, Danil “Dendi” Ishutin made a memorable moment by stealing the cheese for himself and earning thunderous applause from the audience.

Flaws and changes

Despite the excitement, some fans noticed that SumaiL and Tims didn’t appear to be fully engaged in the game, which ended in just 15 minutes. Some viewers tuned out and returned, only to find out they hadn’t missed anything.

Furthermore, the teams ended up playing on the wrong sides, causing confusion during and after the match. Changes are expected to be made for the All-Star Game at TI10 next year based on the response to this event.
