Team Liquid ends their cursed streak in Majors by clinching victory at the China Dota 2 Supermajor.

The China Dota 2 Supermajor, the final event of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit, has come to a close. Team Liquid, the defending International champions, emerged as the winners of this thrilling tournament. They faced off against Virtus Pro in an intense grand finals that went all five games, showcasing the incredible skill and dominance of these top-tier teams.

This victory is particularly significant for Team Liquid as it breaks the “Major curse” they had been facing throughout the season. Despite their three Minor championships and two second-place finishes in other events, they had been unable to secure a Major title. However, they finally achieved this feat at the last ranking event of the year.

In addition to the title, Team Liquid also earned 3,375 Pro Circuit points, placing them above PSG-LGD and below VP on the leaderboard. Although these points may not hold much significance since they already secured a direct invitation to Epicenter XL, the team can take pride in the substantial amount of prize money they won – a whopping $555,000.

This victory not only brings financial success but also provides Team Liquid with a boost of momentum as they head into TI8, the world championship tournament. With just two months to go, every mental advantage they can gain will contribute to their efforts in defending their title in Vancouver. They have the opportunity to make Dota 2 history by becoming the first team to win two TI titles and successfully defend their trophy.
