Team Liquid Eliminates Xtreme Gaming in Record-Breaking Series of Dota 2’s TI11 LCQ

Team Liquid Dominates Xtreme Gaming in International 2022 Last Chance Qualifiers

In the fourth day of the International 2022 Last Chance Qualifiers, four teams were eliminated from the tournament. The series between Team Liquid and Xtreme Gaming was the quickest, with Liquid coming out on top.

Xtreme Gaming was knocked down to the lower bracket by Team Secret, while Team Liquid was coming off a defeat against Virtus.pro in the upper bracket. Liquid had just been reverse-swept and was determined to stay in contention for one of the final tickets to TI11.

Considering both teams were favorites at the beginning of the LCQ and it was an elimination series, fans expected intense matches and players performing at their best.

In the first match, both teams picked active heroes and focused on pushing and teamfighting. Liquid gained momentum after taking down Lou’s Terrorblade twice in a minute.

Xtreme Gaming struggled to find opportunities on the map and Liquid capitalized on their advantage, securing more kills every few minutes. Liquid didn’t let Xtreme have a chance to come back and won the game in 19 minutes and 43 seconds, making it the fastest game in the entire TI11 LCQ up to that point.

In the second match, Xtreme lost control of the game at the 12-minute mark. Liquid continued their dominance and closed out the game in 26 minutes.

With this win, Team Liquid advanced to the next round to face Vici Gaming in the Lower Bracket semifinals. The winner of that series will then face the loser of Team Secret vs. Virtus.pro.

Meanwhile, Xtreme Gaming falls short of their TI aspirations, despite previously eliminating Natus Vincere from the tournament. The majority of the Xtreme team consists of former-Vici players who were hoping to make it back to the TI stage with a new roster.

Now, Xtreme joins the eliminated teams NAVI, T1, and Wildcard Gaming, while Team Liquid, Team Secret, Virtus.pro, and Vici Gaming continue to battle for the final two spots at TI11.
