Team Liquid and Gambit Esports Advance at EPICENTER

Team Liquid proves their strength at EPICENTER Major

Team Liquid faced a tough challenge at the EPICENTER Major but showed their dominance with their newest player. Gambit Esports also stepped up and pulled off a major upset, making them one of the top teams in the world.

Evil Geniuses dominates against Infamous

In the Group B match between Evil Geniuses and Infamous, Evil Geniuses showcased why they are the third-ranked team this season. Although Infamous had their moments, Evil Geniuses easily took the series with a 2-0 victory.

Liquid’s new player shines against Gambit

Liquid introduced their newest player, Aliwi “w33” Omar, in a series against Gambit. Despite Gambit’s history of defeating Liquid, w33 seamlessly fit in with his new team, contributing to key plays and securing kills for Liquid.

Liquid secures top spot in Group B

Despite Gambit’s efforts to focus on w33 in the second game, Liquid drafted their top hero, Windranger, along with a strong Chen pick, resulting in an early lead and a 2-1 victory. This secured Liquid a spot in the main event as the top seed from Group B.

In another series against Evil Geniuses, both teams experienced blowout victories. However, Liquid adapted quickly and dominated the next two games, securing a spot in the upper bracket of the main event.

Gambit upsets Evil Geniuses

Gambit continued their strong performance from the losers match against Infamous and crushed Evil Geniuses. They secured game one by picking off EG 32 times and game two by effectively countering Syed “SumaiL” Hassan’s Storm Spirit pick with 44 kills.

With this victory, Gambit joins Liquid, Team Secret, and Royal Never Give Up in the upper bracket of the main event.

The EPICENTER Major continues with Group C matches between Alliance and Virtus Pro tomorrow at 5am CT.
