Team Empire announces roster changes for new Dota 2 lineup: Cooman joins as player, Ghostik transitions to coaching role

Team Empire Announces New Dota Roster for Spring Tour

After a disappointing performance in the 2022 Dota Pro Circuit’s Winter Tour, Team Empire has made major changes to its roster. Andrii “Ghostik” Kadyk has transitioned from player to coach, and only Sergey “[T]SA” Timchenko remains from the previous lineup.

To fill the empty spots, Empire has acquired Vladislav “DkFogas” Frolov from B8 and brought back Zaur “Cooman” Shakhmurzaev, who has played for several prominent teams in the past. Cooman spent 2021 with HellRaisers but has also been part of Winstrike Team, Virtus.pro, Gambit Esports, and Empire.

The remaining two signings for Empire include former Winstrike player Amir “Dodren” Akmollin and support player Vladislav “Antares” Kertman, who is relatively unknown outside of the region.

Ghostik, who previously served as the team’s captain, will now be taking on the role of coach. He has been an integral part of Empire’s success, including their run at The International 2017.

After being relegated from Division I, Empire will compete in Division II of the DPC’s Spring Tour. Their upcoming matches will be against AS Monaco Gambit, HYDRA, and V-Gaming. However, the start of the competition has been delayed by Valve due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
