Talon Esports player Oli finds solace in acquiring one of Dota 2’s rarest items after elimination from TI 2023.

Treasure of the Crimson Witness: A Rare Reward for Talon Esports’ Player

Talon Esports’ exciting playoff series against BetBoom Team on Oct. 23 unfortunately ended their TI12 run. However, amidst the disappointment, Chan “Oli” Chon Kien, one of Talon Esports’ players, walked away with a prized possession – a Treasure of the Crimson Witness.

The live broadcast of The International captured the exact moment when Oli received the Treasure of the Crimson Witness. Although the image is slightly blurry, it clearly shows the reward pop-up screen on the monitor next to Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon, where Oli was seated.

Talon Esports may have been unsuccessful in their endeavor, but their position five player managed to obtain a rare item. The question arises: How hard is it to acquire this item?

Firstly, the Treasure of the Crimson Witness drops exclusively during The International and under specific circumstances. To have a chance at obtaining it, the player or viewer must physically be present at the TI event and link their TI badge to their Steam account. Additionally, they must witness a “First Blood” while being involved in the match.

Only when these criteria are met, does one have a slight chance of acquiring a Treasure of the Crimson Witness. Due to the rarity, prices of these treasures have steadily increased over time on the Steam Marketplace, especially the older ones.

Curious to know if more Treasures of the Crimson Witness will be dropped? Don’t miss the main stage of TI12, live from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle on Oct. 27.
