Talon Esports Overhauls Dota 2 Roster following Disappointing Performance at TI11

Talon Esports Part Ways with kpii and Hyde After Disappointing TI11 Performance

The International 2022 marked the beginning of the highly-anticipated roster shuffle season in the Dota 2 esports scene. Talon Esports, following their lackluster performance at TI11 in the group stage, has decided to make changes to their roster. The organization recently announced their departure from Damien “kpii” Chok and Brizio “Hyde” Budiana.

Talon Esports’ performance at TI11 was disappointing as they were eliminated during the group stage after playing tiebreakers. In light of this, Talon Esports has decided to reevaluate their roster and find a new working formula.

Talon Esports has assembled a squad of experienced and young talents who have proven themselves as formidable competitors within the region. They climbed through the ranks from division two throughout the DPC season. Talon entered the Dota 2 regional qualifiers with the highest number of DPC points collected, standing at 300. They showcased their skill in the grand finals by defeating Polaris in a close series. However, their performance at TI11 fell short compared to other teams, hindering them from executing their plans.

The disappointment surrounding Talon Esports’ performance at TI11 is even greater considering that they seemed to have a successful formula with kpii leading the way for the talented players in the region. However, with their failure at the highest level of competition, the organization is now looking to start over. Only Mikoto, Q, and 23savage remain on the roster.

It is worth noting that 23savage, the position one player, initially had the opportunity to join the reformed OG roster. However, he chose to stay in Southeast Asia for the 2022 season in hopes of further improvement with T1. Despite this, if he receives offers from European teams, 23savage may consider relocating.

Before joining Talon Esports, 23savage was released from T1, leading to speculation that he might join the reformed OG roster. However, he made the decision to stay in his home region and continue his journey with Talon.
