Talon Esports Overhauls Dota 2 Roster Following Disappointing Performance at TI11

Talon Esports Parts Ways with Players After Disappointing TI11 Run

The International 2022 marked the beginning of the highly-anticipated roster shuffle season in the Dota 2 community. Teams from all regions are reevaluating their rosters in search of a winning formula, and Talon Esports is no exception. The organization has announced the departure of Damien “kpii” Chok and Brizio “Hyde” Budiana.

The decision comes after a disappointing performance at TI11, where Talon Esports was eliminated during the group stage after tiebreakers.

A Farewell Message from Talon Esports

Talon Esports expressed gratitude to both kpii and Hyde for their contributions to the team’s journey from open qualifiers to The International. The organization thanked them for their energy and wished them the best of luck in their future endeavors.

Talon Esports’ Performance in the DPC Season

Talon Esports showcased their skills and potential throughout the Dota Pro Circuit season, with a roster consisting of experienced and young talents. They steadily climbed through the ranks, starting from division two and reaching the grand finals of the regional qualifiers.

In the grand finals, Talon Esports faced off against Polaris and emerged victorious in a closely contested series. However, their performance at TI11 fell short compared to the other teams, forcing them to play catch-up and hindering their ability to execute their strategies.

Roster Changes and the Future

The unexpected failure at TI11 prompted Talon Esports to reassess their roster. Only Mikoto, Q, and 23savage remain from the original lineup. While 23savage has chosen to stay in Southeast Asia for the 2022 season, there is a possibility that he may consider relocating if offers from Europe come his way again.

Prior to joining Talon Esports, 23savage was considered for the reformed OG roster. However, he decided to remain in his home region, believing that he could continue to grow and develop with T1. Unfortunately, he was later removed from the T1 roster and joined Talon Esports.
