Talon Esports Achieves an Unusual Record at BTS Pro Series in Dota 2

Talon Esports Breaks Dota 2 History with Latest First Blood

In an incredible show of endurance and patience, Talon Esports made history today in the BTS Pro Series season 14: Southeast Asia. They scored the latest first blood ever recorded in a professional Dota 2 match, breaking a record that had stood since 2013.

An Intense Final Match

When fans tuned into the final match between Talon and Blacklist International, they expected an all-out showdown. Despite aggressive picks from both sides, spectators didn’t witness a single hero takedown until Talon’s Mikoto finally had enough.

Mikoto’s Templar Assassin (TA) caught Blacklist’s Riki off guard and drew first blood 22 minutes into the match. At that point, TA already had an Aegis of Immortal to her name. With her core items, Desolator, and Dragon Lance, it was about time for some action.

Following the first kill, both teams started taking more risks, increasing the overall intensity of the match. Despite the late first blood, both teams came close to conceding a kill multiple times throughout the match. After the laning phase ended, players continued to play safe and farm their core items, postponing the first blood by about 10 minutes.

The Current Meta and Talon’s Victory

Dota 2 has had its fair share of boring patches over the years, but the current meta is considered one of the most balanced. This means there can always be action all around the map. Talon’s display of discipline, refraining from unnecessary risks for 22 minutes, showcases their skills, even if it may have felt dull at times for viewers.

Talon eventually secured the victory in this match.
