T1 replaces Kuku with Forev at the Singapore Major due to player’s ‘health issue’

Changes to T1 Roster at ONE Esports Singapore Major

T1, one of the teams participating in the ONE Esports Singapore Major, has announced that Carlo “Kuku” Palad will not be able to join the team due to health issues. As a result, Lee “Forev” Sang-don, the organization’s first Dota 2 player, will step in and compete in the Wild Card stage.

Health Issue Causes Roster Change for T1

T1 confirmed that Kuku is currently dealing with a health problem that prevents him from attending the Major. While no further details have been provided by the organization, Kuku himself revealed in now-deleted posts on his social media accounts that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Impact on T1’s Performance

Fortunately, Forev has previously played with several members of the current T1 roster, lessening the blow for the team. However, this unexpected change could still affect their performance at the Major, especially considering their recent replacement of Souliya “JaCkky” Khoomphetsavong with Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon.

COVID-19 Continues to Impact Esports

T1 now joins the growing list of teams that have had to replace players due to COVID-19. Other impacted teams include Natus Vincere, Neon Esports, Quincy Crew, and Nigma. Notably, Na’Vi has lost more than one player due to health protocols, making them the hardest-hit team so far.

The ONE Esports Singapore Major is scheduled to begin on March 27.
