T1 Releases Meracle and Xfreedom, Assures Dota 2 Team Continues

T1 Drops Galvin “Meracle” Jian Wen, Continues Roster Shuffle in Dota 2 Team

T1, the competitive Dota 2 team, is making its third roster swap of the season as it strives to find success. The organization has decided to drop Galvin “Meracle” Jian Wen, who joined the team in May after a previous roster shakeup. During Meracle’s time with T1, the team showed improvement, achieving fourth place in the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League and fifth place in ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia.

Searching for New Carry Player

T1 is now in search of a new carry player while the team is between events. With several quality players becoming free agents in recent weeks, including Nico “eyyou” Barcelon and Daryl “iceiceice” Pei Xiang, T1 has options to consider.

Coach Changes

T1 is not only dropping Meracle but also parting ways with coach Nicholas “xFreedom” Lim. However, head coach Choi “cCarter” Byoung-hoon and assistant coach Pyo “MP” No-a will remain with the team.

No Disbandment for T1 Dota Division

Despite lacking success, T1 CEO Joe Marsh has assured fans that the organization’s Dota division will not be disbanded.

The current T1 roster consists of Muhamma “inYourdreaM” Rizky, Samson Solomon “Sam_H” Enojosa Hidalgo, Tri “Jhocam” Kuncoro, and Wilson Koh “Poloson” Chin Wei. The team is now down to four players.

Jhocam is now the longest-tenured player on the team, having joined during the first roster shuffle in March when cCarter and MP also became part of the team’s leadership.

While T1 is not scheduled to compete in major tournaments at the moment, the organization may bring in stand-ins for practice and participation in smaller events as they continue their pursuit of success.
