Surprising Tigers Upset, LGD Dominates Group C at Kuala Lumpur Major

The Kuala Lumpur Major: Day 2 Recap

The second day of the Kuala Lumpur Major started with an unexpected outcome in the first match.

Tigers, the team that qualified for the Major after winning DreamLeague Season 10, were convincingly defeated by LGD Gaming. The SEA squad couldn’t handle LGD’s aggressive playstyle and lost the first game.

LGD Dominates Tigers

Game two was even worse for Tigers as LGD completely dominated them, securing a series victory in just 35 minutes. Tigers were knocked into the losers match, while LGD advanced to the winners match.

A Close Match between Fnatic and Gambit Esports

The opening match in Group C between Fnatic and Gambit Esports was much more closely contested. Fnatic had a strong start, racking up 41 kills. However, Gambit managed to keep the game competitive by taking down 11 towers.

Game two was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams, but Fnatic maintained the advantage throughout. Fnatic emerged victorious with a 40-30 kill count, sending Gambit to the losers bracket.

LGD Dominates Fnatic

Fnatic’s momentum was halted in the first game of the winners match as LGD made a swift comeback and secured a 1-0 lead. In the second game, Fnatic failed to even the series and lost in just 33 minutes. With this win, LGD secured the top spot in the upper bracket.

Tigers Bounce Back Against Gambit

After their initial defeat, Tigers faced Gambit in a redemption match. The first game was a 45-minute battle that swung in favor of Tigers around the 30-minute mark. However, Gambit swiftly turned the tides in game two and secured a 29-minute victory, setting a promising tone for the decisive match.

In the longest game of the day, Tigers managed to secure a victory despite being at a disadvantage in nearly every category. This win gave Tigers another chance at the upper bracket.

Fnatic Shuts Down Tigers

In the final series of Group C, Tigers faced Fnatic and were completely dominated. Fnatic allowed them only five kills and controlled the tempo of the game, securing a quick 31-minute win.

Tigers tried to mount a comeback, but Fnatic shut down all their attempts. With a 2-0 victory, Fnatic joined LGD in the upper bracket, while Tigers and Gambit will start the main event in the lower bracket.
