Super joins Elephant’s roster in preparation for TI10 qualifiers

New Chinese Dota 2 Team Elephant Hopes Experience Will Lead Them to The International 10

Chinese Dota 2 team Elephant, formed recently, is relying on their experience to propel them to The International 10.

After a disappointing performance in the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit, failing to qualify for both Majors, Elephant has made a change. Ru “RedPanda” Zhihao has been replaced by veteran player Xie “Super” Junhao from Royal Never Give Up. The announcement was made today on Weibo.

Super brings a decade-long experience to a team that has struggled to find success. After their impressive win in the China Dota 2 Pro Cup S2, Elephant has failed to keep up with other teams.

Elephant, initially seen as an all-star team, caused controversy with their transfers from other Chinese organizations, but they haven’t been able to prove their worth. PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming, the most affected teams by the player exodus to Elephant, recently performed well in the ONE Esports Singapore Major and qualified for the WePlay AniMajor. Furthermore, both teams defeated Elephant during the Chinese Regional League.

With no success in securing a spot in TI10 through DPC points, Elephant now has one last opportunity through a last-gasp qualifier. Only one team from each region can secure a spot in Dota 2’s premier tournament through this process.

The International 10 is scheduled to take place in August with a $40 million prize pool. For Elephant, the battle begins now. If they don’t improve quickly, this all-star roster may not even make it to Stockholm, Sweden.
