Secret and EHOME stun the competition at The Chongqing Major

Team Secret Takes Dominant Win Over Team Liquid in The Chongqing Major Playoffs

In the opening round of The Chongqing Major playoffs, Team Secret showed up ready to play against a patched-up Team Liquid roster. Despite a strong performance in the group stage, Team Liquid struggled to find their groove due to external factors.

Game one saw Team Secret taking advantage of Team Liquid’s unfamiliar playing style, securing a convincing win and a 1-0 lead. The momentum carried over to game two, with Team Secret controlling the game and ultimately sending Team Liquid to the Lower Bracket.

One major hindrance for Team Liquid was their stand-in player, Chu “shadow” Zeyu, who was dealing with severe gastrointestinal issues throughout the series. Although he showed up for the matches, he was immediately taken to the hospital after the final game and diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis. There is no update on his condition, but he is expected to return for their next match.

In another intense match, EHOME proved their worth as formidable contenders against higher-seeded team Fnatic. EHOME dominated game one, halting Fnatic’s flawless run. Despite a strong comeback from Fnatic in game two, EHOME bounced back and secured their spot in the Upper Bracket, sending Fnatic to the Lower Bracket.

The playoff action continues with Alliance going up against Chaos Esports Club on Jan. 21 at 8pm CT.
