Player Jonáš Volek Makes a Move to Shopify Rebellion
Roster changes are common in esports, and Dota 2 is no exception. One player making a notable switch is Jonáš Volek, known as SabeRLight- in the game. Previously playing for TSM as the offlane player, SabeRLight- has now joined Team Shopify Rebellion as their position three player. This new team was formed in December 2022, with most of the old EG roster including players like Arteezy, Abed, Cr1t, and Fly. SabeRLight- recently explained his decision to join Shopify Rebellion in an interview with esports.gg on Feb. 18.
Seeking New Opportunities
In the interview, SabeRLight- shared his goals for the future in the Dota 2 scene. He revealed that TSM’s disappointing performance during The International 2022 made him consider exploring other options. BuLba, who was then the coach of team EG, approached SabeRLight- with an offer to join their team as the offlaner, as Nightfall was also leaving the roster. Motivated by the desire for personal growth, SabeRLight- decided to accept BuLba’s offer. However, plans changed when the entire EG roster was disbanded, leading to the formation of the current Shopify Rebellion roster, with SabeRLight- as their star offlaner.
An Exciting Opportunity
SabeRLight- expressed his admiration for the old EG roster and saw joining them as the perfect transition for the next phase of his career. He enjoys playing with new players and felt that this change was a natural fit for him. SabeRLight- believes that playing with top-tier players will help him improve as a player, and based on his performance so far, it’s clear that he is thriving in this new team.
Looking Ahead
SabeRLight- is confident in his growth as a player and attributes much of his success to his former team. Despite Shopify Rebellion’s loss to TSM, he wishes them the best for their future and sees the loss as motivation to continue improving. Given SabeRLight-‘s current performance, it will be exciting to see how well Shopify Rebellion performs in the upcoming Lima Major.
