Yesterday, fans of The International 2019 were left puzzled by the announcement that this year’s All-Star game would be based on fantasy points. The lack of information about the selection process and any exceptions added to the confusion. However, we now have a rough outline of how the game will be played.

The most significant update is that the fantasy points used will only come from the group stage of TI9. This gives players who performed well early on a significant advantage. The top 10 players based on fantasy score will participate in the All-Star game, with only one player from each team eligible. Currently, Evil Geniuses, Newbee, PSG.LGD, and Vici Gaming have multiple players in the top 10, but the list has been curated to ensure diversity.

Viewers can actively participate in the All-Star game by selecting their favorite player before the match begins. The chosen player’s performance during the game can earn their fans battle pass points.

As previously announced by Valve, the All-Star game will be a five on five, All Random Death Match. Fans can witness the excitement on August 23, with the official time and teams set to be revealed closer to the game.
