Riyadh prepares to host a gaming festival featuring a massive prize pool for Dota 2.

Gamers8 Gaming Festival Returns with Even Bigger Prize Pool in 2023

Gamers8, the tournament organizer behind the highly successful Riyadh Masters in 2022, has announced its return as a gaming festival in 2023. The festival is set to have an even bigger prize pool and will feature a range of games, including the popular title, Dota 2.

Excitement Builds as Fans Anticipate Seven Games in the Festival

Fans are expecting the festival to showcase a total of seven games, with Dota 2 receiving the largest share of the overall prize pool.

Increased Prize Pool and Invites for Participating Teams

The Dota 2 prize pool for the upcoming festival is expected to significantly surpass last year’s $4 million. Additionally, a majority of the participating teams are likely to be decided through invites. In the previous edition, three qualifier spots were available.

Not Part of Dota Pro Circuit, but Still a Coveted Event

Despite its massive prize pool, Riyadh Masters is not included in the Dota Pro Circuit and does not award teams with any DPC points. The 2023 edition of the tournament is scheduled to start on July 6, after the conclusion of the last DPC tour. However, it may overlap with the Bali Major.

Innovative Use of Prize Pool and Tough Decisions for Qualified Teams

Riyadh Masters has not only attracted attention due to its large prize pool, but also for its creative use of the funds to provide various rewards. If teams that qualify for the Bali Major also receive invitations to Riyadh Masters, they may face a difficult decision in choosing which event to attend.

OG’s former player Mikhail “Misha” Agatov, who now serves as the team’s coach, was able to earn an extra $50,000 for achieving the highest hero healing and recording the best interview in the tournament. Former player Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida was awarded an additional $100,000 for being the tournament MVP.
