Report reveals unfair advantages caused by soundproofing issues at TI11 by Fnatic.

Fnatic Files Formal Report over Unfair Advantages at The International 2022

In the ongoing Dota 2 tournament, The International 2022, Fnatic has submitted an official report to PGL and Valve regarding concerns of unfair advantages that may have led to their early elimination.

Players Could Hear Commentators During Matches

During the main event in Suntec Singapore, many Dota 2 players, personalities, and fans have come forward claiming that players on stage were able to hear the commentators while playing.

Evidence of Sound Leakage

The leaked team voice of LGD confirmed the sound leakage issue, with players being able to hear everything the casters were saying during a match.

Multiple Reports Confirming Sound Leakage

Several players, including Gaimin Gladiator’s Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov, PSG.LGD’s Zhao “XinQ” Zixing, and two Team Spirit players, have confirmed the ability to hear the casters during matches.

Fnatic Takes Action and Files Report

Concerned about the impact on competitive integrity, Fnatic has filed a formal report after their elimination game, stating that the opponents used the sound leakage to their advantage.

“Our intention is solely to raise awareness about something that can be as game-breaking as dream-crushing for the athletes,” said Fnatic CGO and co-owner Patrik Sättermon.

Potential Backlash and Compensation

If other teams agree that this issue impacted the games, PGL and Valve could face major backlash and be required to compensate affected teams.

Additional Issues Arise

Other issues, such as problems with soundproof headphones and equipment hygiene, have also been reported by players.

Fnatic Takes Responsibility

Despite the issues, Fnatic takes full responsibility for their loss and does not blame their opponents or the ongoing situation.

Update Oct. 22, 4 AM CT: Fnatic’s coach, Lee “SunBhie” Jeong-jae, has confirmed that their team was not able to hear the casters clearly during their match.

Regardless of the challenges, Fnatic has taken action, and other teams may follow suit in addressing the issue.
