PSG.LGD Advances to Upper Bracket Finals at The International 10 After Victory Over Virtus Pro

PSG.LGD Dominates Virtus Pro in Upper Bracket Victory at The International 10

Tempo, flexibility, and strong drafting have played crucial roles in determining the teams that remain in the upper bracket at The International 10. In a remarkable display, PSG.LGD showcased the power of combining these elements in their dominant win over Virtus Pro. This victory secured their spot in the upper bracket finals.

Virtus Pro faced a formidable challenge against LGD, unlike their previous opponent, Vici Gaming. LGD, a top contender at TI10, proved capable of holding their own against the aggressive and youthful VP team. LGD successfully thwarted VP’s advances and turned the game’s tempo in their favor.

VP’s initial draft focused on dominating the lanes early but failed to materialize as LGD took the lead right from the beginning. During this phase, LGD remained active, securing kills on gpk’s Ember Spirit and all of VP’s support heroes, effectively nullifying any chances of an early snowball effect for VP.

Despite trailing, VP remained proactive in seeking teamfights and put up a good fight while playing from behind. However, they couldn’t overcome the deficit as they had to expend significant resources to secure meaningful kills on LGD’s core players. Meanwhile, Ame’s Luna, when initiating, posed a significant threat to VP.

In their attempt to address their scaling issues, VP unintentionally played into LGD’s hands, as LGD switched up the majority of their strategy in the second game.

VP had no counter for Ame’s Monkey King, and NothingToSay outperformed gpk once again in the mid lane with his Kunkka. Accompanied by Winter Wyvern and Oracle, LGD made it nearly impossible for VP to secure kills without exhausting all their resources and leaving themselves vulnerable to counterattacks.

With a lineup built for teamfights and picking off opponents, VP fought bravely but succumbed in just 26 minutes.

LGD now marches forward to the upper bracket finals after yet another dominant performance. They will face Team Secret, the only team to have taken a game off them.

VP’s journey is far from over. They move to the lower bracket and await the winner of the Team Spirit vs. OG match.
