OG and LGD one win away from The International 8 grand finals.

Two Teams One Victory Away from The International 8 Grand Finals

After a day of intense matchups, two teams now stand just one win away from advancing to The International 8 grand finals.

Unfortunately, Team Liquid, the reigning champions of The International 2017, is not one of them. Despite dominating their group and easily defeating OpTic Gaming in the first round of the upper bracket, the European champions were crushed by their rivals PSG.LGD in a quick two-game series.

PSG.LGD’s support duo, Yap “xNova” Jian Wei and former Vici Gaming superstar Xu “fy” Linsen, played a crucial role in their team’s overwhelming victory over Liquid. Their exceptional warding skills denied Liquid any opportunity to initiate team fights on their own terms. Instead, PSG.LGD carefully assessed each engagement and dismantled Liquid effortlessly.

On the other hand, OG secured their position in the winner bracket finals by defeating Evil Geniuses in a grudge match, with a score of 2-1. Just three months ago, OG was in a state of disarray, losing three players during the Dota 2 Pro Circuit season. Tal “Fly” Aizik and Gustav “s4” Magnusson left OG on May 28, just hours before the Dota 2 Super Major in China.

Despite low expectations after their roster changes, OG has surprised everyone with their outstanding performance at The International 8. They are now just one match away from reaching the grand finals on Aug. 25.

The lower bracket of the main event features powerhouses like Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid, and Virtus Pro. In the next two days, at least one of these favorites will be eliminated from the tournament, making it an exciting and unpredictable time for Dota 2 fans worldwide.
