OG achieves their first top cut of the season at MDL Disneyland

OG Secures Spot in Upper Bracket at MDL Disneyland Paris Major

After two days of intense competition at the MDL Disneyland Paris Major, the playoff bracket has been set, with most of the top teams earning a place in the upper bracket. Among them is OG, who secured their spot with a dominant performance in their final series.

OG had a slow start to the 2018-19 season, taking an extended break after winning The International 2018. Their first DPC tournament of the season was The Bucharest Minor in January, where they placed fifth. Now, at MDL Disneyland, they find themselves in one of the most competitive groups but managed to defeat Fnatic 2-0 in their first match.

However, their winning streak came to an end when they faced Evil Geniuses in their second match. EG continued to dominate after defeating Complexity Gaming in the series opener and secured the top seed in Group D with a flawless 4-0 record. Complexity managed to survive one more round by defeating Fnatic 2-1, setting up a decider match between them and OG.

OG’s Anathan “ana” Pham played a crucial role in their final group battle, providing stability and contributing to their victory in game one. Complexity put up a fight in game two but fell short, resulting in a sweep by OG and the team securing their spot in the upper bracket.

OG will face Virtus Pro in their opening upper bracket game, marking their first matchup of the season. The winner of that match will go on to face the winner of Team Secret vs. LGD Gaming in the next round, which is scheduled for May 6 at 3am CT.
