Ninjas in Pyjamas Dota 2 Roster Update: SoNNeikO Released, Cr1t- to Stand-In
The Ninjas in Pyjamas’ Dota 2 roster has undergone significant changes recently. The team has released team captain Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev.
While a replacement for SoNNeikO has yet to be found, Ninjas in Pyjamas has reached an agreement with Evil Geniuses. Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen will stand-in for the European roster at OGA Dota PIT season two.
Ninjas in Pyjamas announced the news on Twitter, stating, “We will be playing the upcoming OGA DotaPit S2 with a stand-in, and we are very happy to announce that we’ve secured none other than one of the world’s best supports in Andreas Franck @Cr1tdota Nielsen for the tournament.” (source: Twitter)
This opportunity for Ninjas in Pyjamas was made possible because Evil Geniuses is not competing in the American bracket for Dota PIT season two. Therefore, Cr1t- was available to sub in at position five for Ninjas in Pyjamas, providing a significant boost to the European squad.
The roster for Ninjas in Pyjamas at this event includes Charlie “CharlieDota” Arat, Ondřej “Supream^” Štarha, Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek, Adrian “Era” Kryeziu, and Cr1t- as a stand-in.
While the team competes, Ninjas in Pyjamas will continue scouting for players to complete their roster before the start of the Omega League in August.
NiP COO Jonas Gundersen stated, “We believe in a more flat structure, and thus have chosen to make some changes. With the Omega League coming up and the collaboration we’ve initiated with the other teams, we are looking at a very bright future for NiP. This experience could be beneficial for Cr1t- as Evil Geniuses will be competing against Ninjas in Pyjamas, OG, and other teams in the EU region for the Omega League following their participation in Dota PIT season two.
Dota PIT season two is set to begin on July 27.
