NiP Parts Ways with Gunnar from Dota 2 Roster

Ninjas in Pyjamas Parts Ways with Dota 2 Player Gunnar

Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) has announced the departure of Nico “Gunnar” Lopez, their North American Dota 2 carry player. The decision comes as a result of NiP’s underwhelming performance in recent tournaments, including their elimination from the WePlay! Bukovel Minor in January.

According to NiP, they will be conducting tryouts to find a replacement for Gunnar. Additionally, the team will be relocating back to Europe to enhance their practice routines and compete against stronger opponents in the region’s qualifiers.

Peter “ppd” Dager, NiP’s captain, stated that while some fans may find the roster change surprising, it is in the best interest of the team. Moving forward, NiP will focus on consistent practice and gradual improvement, rather than relying on short boot camps before qualifiers or LAN events.

Many NiP fans are hopeful for the return of Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard, who was replaced by Gunnar in September 2019. Ace had previously achieved success with NiP, helping them secure victories in the OGA Dota PIT Minor and StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor season two.
