Ninjas in Pyjamas Rejoins Dota 2, Acquires ppd’s Team

Ninjas in Pyjamas Makes a Comeback in Dota 2 with Experienced Roster

After being away from the Dota 2 scene for more than a year, Ninjas in Pyjamas has returned with a talented roster consisting of Peter “ppd” Dager, Adrian “Fata” Trinks, Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard, Martin “Saksa” Sazdov, and Neta “33” Shapira.

Player Accomplishments:

Ppd and 33 placed in the top eight at The International 8 while playing for OpTic Gaming. Fata and Ace performed even better, securing a top-six finish with Team Secret. On the other hand, Saksa did not compete in TI8 because his team, BlinkPool, did not qualify through the European qualifiers.

New Roles:

Ppd, the only former TI champion in the team, will now be the team’s captain and position five player. Saksa, who achieved a second-place finish at TI6 with Digital Chaos, will play as the position four player. Fata will be transitioning from offlane to midlane, 33 will take up the offlane position, and Ace will continue as the carry.

Past Struggles:

NiP released its previous lineup in June 2017 after a series of top-eight placings in qualifiers and lower-level tournaments. However, during their four months with NiP, the team only earned $1,000 in prize money from a single event – Betway Arena King of the Hill – where they lost their only match against Team Empire.

Confidence in the New Team:

Despite their previous lack of success, CEO Hicham Chahine expressed confidence in the team’s abilities. In a press release, Chahine stated, “We have been closely monitoring the Dota 2 scene over the past year, evaluating various opportunities for our return to the game. This opportunity is rare, and we are excited to have such an experienced and talented team at Ninjas in Pyjamas.”

New Challenges:

The new Ninjas in Pyjamas roster will compete in the European qualifying process for the Kuala Lumpur Major, which begins on September 19.
