Ninjaboogie’s Break Ahead of the 2019-20 Dota Pro Circuit

Professional Dota 2 Player Ninjaboogie Takes Break Ahead of First Major

Popular Dota 2 player Michael “ninjaboogie” Ross Jr. has announced that he will be taking an extended break from professional gaming. Following his departure from Mineski after The International 2019, ninjaboogie and his former teammates have been searching for new teams. With the start of the 2019-20 Dota Pro Circuit on October 5, players and teams have a limited time to finalize deals and form rosters.

“I’ve decided to take a few months off to focus on a few personal goals along with spending time with my loved ones, in the meantime I might look at casting & streaming casually” – Michael ninjaboogie Ross (@ninjaboogiee)

Ninjaboogie is not alone in his decision to skip the first series of events in the upcoming season. OG’s entire roster, as well as Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen, will also be absent. After performing in the last two Internationals and finishing in ninth place, ninjaboogie would have been a highly sought-after player in Southeast Asia. However, taking a break allows him to carefully assess the professional scene and make the best career choice.

This break may suggest that ninjaboogie is considering a move to a different region. Having spent his entire seven-year career in Southeast Asia, it may seem unlikely, but teams in North America or Europe could potentially sign him. In the meantime, he plans to focus on his family, set new personal goals, and explore casting and streaming opportunities.

This strategy of skipping early Dota Pro Circuit events has been seen before, most notably by OG last year. Resting before The International 2019 proved successful for OG, who ultimately won the championship.
