The First LAN Event for Nigma Shows Room for Improvement
Participating in the WePlay! Bukovel Minor, Nigma – a team comprised of some of Dota 2’s most accomplished players – experienced a rough start in their first LAN event.
While Geek Fam and Royal Never Give Up easily breezed through the competition in Group A, Nigma faced a tough series against Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao’s Fighting PandaS. The series began poorly for Nigma as Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi was outplayed by EE. However, the game remained close, and it wasn’t until PandaS pulled off an incredible teamfight that they gained control and secured the victory.
In the second game, the tables were turned. Miracle- destroyed PandaS, going 19/0/8 as Nigma evened up the series.
Nigma faced another challenge against FURIA Esports to secure their pass into the playoffs. Fortunately, FURIA had no answer for Nigma’s dominant play. Their inexperience showed as Nigma’s players, especially w33 and Miracle-, carried the team throughout the series.
With these victories, Nigma earned a spot in the playoffs and have the opportunity to make it into the upper bracket by defeating the loser of the PandaS and Gambit match.
Ninjas in Pyjamas vs. Team Spirit: A Match to Watch
The next round of matches will begin at 2am CT on Jan. 10, with Ninjas in Pyjamas battling to avoid elimination against Team Spirit.
