Nigma Organizes $10,000 Dota 2 Rising Stars Tournament in MENA Region

Team Nigma Partners with Etisalat and Swyp to Bring Biggest Dota 2 Tournament to MENA Region

Team Nigma has joined forces with Etisalat and Swyp to organize a groundbreaking Dota 2 tournament for the Middle East and North African (MENA) region. The event features a prize pool of $10,000, along with a special show match against the winning team.

The MENA region, which stands for the Middle East and North Africa, encompasses the Greater Middle East region. This tournament is exclusively open to Arab players, and registration is completely free. Interested participants can register until June 6, and there are 256 available slots.

The total prize pool of $10,000 will be divided among the top three teams, with the first-place team receiving $5,000, the second-place team receiving $3,000, and the third-place team receiving $2,000.

The tournament will take place from June 7 to June 15, with the Nigma exhibition match scheduled for the final day of the event.

These tournaments aim to discover hidden talent from lesser-known regions. Despite the relatively small size of the MENA region, it has produced several exceptional players. Nigma’s Miracle- and GH were born in Jordan and Lebanon, respectively, while captain KuroKy and w33 have Arab roots.

Other notable players from the region include YapzOr from Jordan, who plays as a support player for Team Secret, and Fly from Israel, who is the captain of Evil Geniuses.

Being a player-owned organization, Nigma may follow in the footsteps of OG by recruiting talented players from underrepresented regions. OG recently acquired a development squad called OG.Seed, aiming to nurture and develop players from their own region.

With the tournament’s geographic limitations set by the organizers, Team Nigma, the runners-up of The International 2019, could potentially discover emerging talent from the MENA region.
