Nigma Triumphs against HellRaisers in Epic DOTA 2 Showdown
Nigma emerged victorious in an intense battle against HellRaisers at the WeSave! Charity Play DOTA 2 tournament. Despite facing tough opposition, Nigma managed to secure a hard-fought 3-2 victory in the Europe vs. CIS superfinal.
A Clash of Titans
In their first meeting of the season, Nigma demonstrated their dominance in the European bracket, defeating Team Secret and Team Liquid effortlessly. Meanwhile, HellRaisers emerged as an unexpected force in the CIS region, triumphing over Virtus Pro and Natus Vincere.
A Hard-Fought Battle
The first game was a thrilling and chaotic showdown between the two teams. Both squads relentlessly attacked each other’s territories with a range of powerful heroes. Nigma’s Miracle-, playing as Phantom Assassin, dictated the pace of the game and demanded HellRaisers’ constant attention. Despite the pressure, Nigma secured victory through well-timed teamfights and strategic plays.
A Resilient Rival
HellRaisers fought back strongly in the second game, with Nix’s Stealth Assassin leading the charge. Nix acquired an impressive 20 kills without dying and created space for his Alchemist teammate. The CIS squad overwhelmed Nigma, forcing them into submission.
An Unexpected Turn
In game three, HellRaisers showcased their teamfight prowess with xannii’s Queen of Pain securing 20 kills. Nigma experimented with their picks and strategies, which backfired against the superior execution of HellRaisers’ lineup. Nigma’s Razor was forced into a support role to avoid a disadvantageous lane matchup against Queen of Pain.
Nigma made a comeback in the fourth game, with w33’s Meepo excelling. Despite a shaky start, Nigma gained control, leading to a decisive victory over HellRaisers.
The final match was a tense affair, with HellRaisers attempting to shut down Miracle-‘s Morphling. However, Nigma employed splitpushing strategies to frustrate their opponents. Ultimately, Miracle-‘s Morphling became an unstoppable force, leading Nigma to victory.
Nigma has faced challenges in the Dota Pro Circuit but has shown exceptional performance in WePlay! Esports’ events, including the WePlay! Bukovel Minor and WePlay! Tug of War: Mad Moon.
Although HellRaisers narrowly lost the series, their strong performance indicates that they are solid contenders in the CIS region. With new recruits bolstering their lineup, HellRaisers could become the dark horse of the season.
The WeSave! Charity Play event raised over $70,000 in addition to the initial prize pool of $120,000. The entire amount will be donated to the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations and GlobalGiving to support the fight against COVID-19.
