Nigma dominates Liquid in WeSave! Charity Play

Nigma emerges as champions in WeSave! Charity Play Dota 2 tournament

Team Liquid and Nigma faced off in the European finals of the WeSave! Charity Play Dota 2 tournament. After an initial win by Liquid, Nigma bounced back and secured three consecutive victories to take the series 3-1.

These two teams have met three times this season, with Liquid winning two of the series. Both teams failed to qualify for the ESL One Los Angeles Major but will be participating in the online version running from March 28 to April 19.

Unconventional strategies dominate the series

The first two games showcased unique strategies. Liquid utilized the power of Broodmother in the first game, overpowering Nigma’s draft. In the second game, Nigma responded with an unexpected Meepo pick to secure the win.

The unconventional picks continued in the third game, with Nigma opting for a position five Clinkz and an unorthodox mid lane pick with Spirit Breaker. Their aggressive playstyle prevented Liquid from gaining any momentum.

Nigma to face HellRaisers in additional series

Nigma emerged as the champions of Europe by defeating Team Secret and Liquid. However, there is still one more series to be played between the winners of the European and CIS regions. Nigma will be competing against HellRaisers, who have yet to drop a game in the tournament.

The WeSave! Charity Play tournament has raised over $60,000 in addition to its initial $120,000 prize pool. The funds will be donated to the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations and GlobalGiving to support the fight against COVID-19.
