Natus Vincere Adds Promising Pubstar Illias to Dota 2 Roster

Natus Vincere Adds Illias “illias” Ganeev as New Position Five Support

Natus Vincere (Na’Vi) has recruited Illias “illias” Ganeev, the fifth-ranked player on the European server Dota 2 leaderboards, to join their roster as the new position five support. The decision comes after Na’Vi benched their previous position five and captain, Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev, due to unsatisfactory results at the MDL Chengdu Major Qualifier.

An Unknown Talent

Illias, a relatively unknown player, will make his competitive debut with Na’Vi at just 17 years old. Following the trend set by other CIS organizations, Na’Vi is taking a chance on young, highly skilled pubstars with no prior professional experience. This strategy stems from the region’s poor performance at TI9 and the ongoing MDL Chengdu Major, where CIS representatives finished at the bottom half of the competition.

Natus Vincere’s Quest for Parity

Although Na’Vi has a storied history in the Dota 2 scene, recent years have been less successful for the organization. They finished in the top-16 at TI9 and are looking to improve their performance in the 2019-2020 competitive season. With the addition of Illias, Na’Vi hopes to rejuvenate their team and achieve greater success.
