N0tail Becomes the Highest-Earning Esports Player Ever with OG’s Triumph at The International 2019

Johan “N0tail” Sundstein and OG Dominate The International 2019

Johan “N0tail” Sundstein and his team OG made history at The International 2019 by winning the championship and becoming the highest-earning esports players of all time.

The season started off rough for OG in the Dota Pro Circuit, but they turned it around and dominated TI9, claiming 45.5% of the record-breaking $34 million prize pool. Their share came out to $15,603,132, securing their spot at the top.

N0tail, along with Anathan “ana” Pham, Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen, Sébastien “Ceb” Debs, and Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka, not only secured another Aegis of Champions but also reached the highest earnings in esports history. Each player received a $3.1 million payout, propelling them to the top of the all-time list.

Thanks to their winnings from TI9, as well as their previous victories and event payouts, OG’s main roster has now earned over $30 million. This achievement also moved OG up to the second spot for highest overall team earnings in esports, with approximately $33 million.

The only team ahead of OG is Liquid, whom they defeated to claim their spot. However, the lead is only $200,000. It is worth noting that OG has participated in only 67 tournaments, all in Dota 2, while Liquid has competed in over 1,500 across multiple titles.

The top 10 highest-earning players list is now dominated by Dota 2, with four of the Liquid players OG defeated at TI9 also making the cut. The next game on the list is Fortnite, where Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf, the Fortnite World Cup solo champion, ranks 13th with over $3 million in total earnings.
