David “MoonMeander” Tan: From Player to Coach

In a recent interview with Esports Heaven, David “MoonMeander” Tan reflected on his transition from being a successful Dota 2 player to becoming a respected coach. He also shared his thoughts on TSM’s impressive performance in the previous season, which led them to the Lima Major.

MoonMeander described his transition into coaching as “fluid.” He expressed his enjoyment of the calm and paternal aspects of the job, stating that he was happy to watch his players improve while sipping his coffee.

MoonMeander’s Impact as a Coach

During MoonMeander’s first season as a coach at TSM, his teachings were showcased, resulting in the team securing the No. 1 spot in the NA region after defeating Shopify Rebellion. He is proud of TSM’s performance in the first tour of the 2023 DPC, as the team’s dedication and hard work propelled them to success.

A Fresh Approach to Competitive Dota 2

MoonMeander appreciates the changes made to the DPC format following concerns raised by professionals at The International 2022. Valve’s adjustments have made Dota 2 more enjoyable to watch, reminiscent of the golden era of competitive Dota 2 in 2015 and 2016.
