MidOne and kpii allegedly sign with Team SMG for the second season of Dota Pro Circuit.

Team Registration Opens for Second Season of Dota Pro Circuit with Roster Changes

Teams are now registering for the regional leagues in the second season of the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit. As a result, roster moves are being revealed ahead of the open qualifiers.

In Southeast Asia, it seems that MidOne and kpii have joined Team SMG on a trial basis in an attempt to qualify for a spot in the region’s lower division. This information was found on the open qualifier’s registration page.

On the registration page, it was discovered that MidOne and kpii have replaced Cheng “vtFαded” Jia Hao and Michael “ninjaboogie” Ross Jr. on the roster. Though ninjaboogie is already playing with a new stack, both players are still officially listed as part of the team.

MidOne was recently released from OG’s roster after the team failed to qualify for the ONE Esports Singapore Major in Europe. He had played with N0tail and the squad for slightly over a year after spending four years with Team Secret. If he signs with SMG, it will be his first time competing in SEA since leaving Fnatic in 2016.

Kpii parted ways with TNC Predator at the end of the DPC’s first season on March 3 and has been searching for a new team to compete with since then.

Joining Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung, Tue “ah fu” Soon Chuan, and team captain Muhammad “Neah666” Rasulli for the qualifiers, the pair will form the new lineup.

This is SMG’s second roster since establishing its Dota division in January and participating in the qualifiers for the first season of the DPC. The matches will commence on April 6, with one team from each set of open qualifiers advancing to the lower division for season two.
