Meta4Pro Investigates Own Players for Match-Fixing, Withdraws from DPC EU Lower Division

Russian Esports Team Meta4Pro Withdraws from Dota Pro Circuit Amid Match-Fixing Investigation

Russian organization Meta4Pro has made the decision to voluntarily withdraw from the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) following suspicions of match-fixing involving contracted players. DreamHack has announced that the matter is currently under investigation by ESL Gaming and the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC), with Valve being informed of the situation.

Voided Results and Elimination from Europe Regional League

All of Meta4Pro’s results, including past matches, will be voided as a result of their withdrawal from the DPC. This decision gives the team a 0-7 record and eliminates them from the Europe Regional League.

DreamHack Dota, in a statement, expressed their commitment to maintaining a clean and reliable competitive environment, and promised to update the Dota community once their investigation, as well as the ESIC’s, is completed.

Meta4Pro, in a post on their official VK page, announced that the decision to withdraw was made by management after the team’s two recent series against Hippomaniacs and Burjui. According to the organization, some players “categorically refused” to continue playing due to suspicions involving their teammates.

The names of the individuals involved in the match-fixing allegations will not be released until the investigation concludes in the near future, Meta4Pro added.

No changes will be made to the format of the DPC EU lower division. With Meta4Pro’s withdrawal, only one team will be eliminated from the DPC, while the top two teams will be promoted to the upper division.
