Dota 2 Patch 7.32 Revitalizes Twitch Viewership During ESL One Malaysia 2022

Dota 2 fans flocked to the game’s competitive pro scene to witness these changes. While the ESL-hosted tournament alone saw an increase in viewership, the numbers skyrocketed even further after the release of patch 7.32. On August 23, viewership reached an impressive 130,000, more than double the usual average of 50,000 to 55,000 viewers.

However, the surge in viewership did not stop there. StreamsCharts, a platform specializing in tracking viewership statistics, observed another significant spike in viewership on August 24, the day after the patch release. Starting at 117,000 viewers, the numbers continued to climb throughout the day, peaking at 170,000.

These spikes in viewership are indicative of Dota 2’s current positive momentum. The game’s popularity and player count have been steadily increasing, reaching their highest average since January 2022. This upward trend is also reflected in Twitch viewership, which is now at its highest level since The International 10 in October 2021.

While Dota 2 remains one of the oldest esports titles, it continues to thrive thanks to regular content updates. Keeping the game fresh and exciting is crucial, and Valve’s efforts are evidently paying off, especially in terms of viewership.
