Marci from Dota: Dragon’s Blood to Debut as Dota 2’s New Hero this Autumn

Marci, from the animated series Dota: Dragon’s Blood, will be added as a new playable hero in Dota 2 later this year.

Valve revealed the teaser during The International 10, where Davion, the Dragon Knight and the main character of the show, was played live on stage.

Marci serves as the loyal bodyguard to Princess of the Moon, Mirana. She is a skilled fighter, proficient in hand-to-hand combat. Her popularity in the show suggests that we may see more integration of Dota 2 media into the game in the future.

The reveal trailer did not provide much information about Marci’s gameplay, which is typical for hero reveals during TI. All we know is that she will be the game’s 121st hero and will be added in the fall.

It is likely that Marci will be classified as a Strength or Agility Melee hero, focusing on her physical abilities showcased in Dragon’s Blood. However, it remains unclear how developers will handle elements like voicelines for her character, considering she is mute.

In addition to Marci’s reveal, Valve confirmed that the second season of Dota: Dragon’s Blood will premiere on Netflix in January 2022. The first season of the show was released in March.
