March appointed as T1’s head coach for Dota 2

T1 Adds Coach March to Dota 2 Team

Legendary Korean esports organization T1 has brought on Park “March” Tae-won, a 32-year-old veteran, as the head coach of its Dota 2 team. March will be reuniting with his former MVP Phoenix teammate, Pyo “MP” No-a, in the backroom.

T1 is hoping that the addition of March, with his extensive experience of almost a decade in competition, and recent success with one of Southeast Asia’s top teams, will bring much-needed stability to the organization’s struggling Dota 2 project.

March, who captained TNC Predator, led the team to their first Dota 2 Major win at MDL Chengdu this year. However, in September, March expressed a desire to pursue a different path, leading to his release from the roster.

Before joining TNC, March had tried his hand at coaching with various teams including Echo International, Wind and Rain, and Fnatic.

Although T1 has a strong reputation in the esports scene, their performance in Dota 2 this year has been lackluster. Despite signing Korean offlaner Lee “Forev” Sang-don, the team took four months to form a complete roster around him. They failed to qualify for any tournaments in the Dota Pro Circuit before the COVID-19 pandemic halted the competitive scene. The roster has faced multiple changes and is currently lacking a position one player following the departure of Galvin “Meracle” Kang in September.

T1’s decision to bring on March as head coach is aimed at improving the team’s performance and achieving success in the Dota 2 scene.
