The International 10 Main Event Brackets Revealed
The group stage of Dota 2’s biggest tournament, The International 10, has concluded. Now, the remaining 16 teams and Valve are gearing up for the main event, which will take place live in the Arena Națională in Bucharest.
All teams that secured higher seeds in the upper and lower brackets were given the chance to choose their opponents from the lower-seeded teams in the opposing groups. However, Invictus Gaming, as the top seed, was not allowed to select OG or T1 since they all played in Group A.
This selection process can be seen as a straightforward choice by teams who want to play against opponents they prefer, or as a strategic move to psych out their competitors. OG, for example, famously coin-flipped to choose their opponent at TI9, resulting in a matchup against Newbee, which they won 2-0, sending a clear message that they were ready to face anyone.
While OG did not secure a top seed this time, they managed to advance to the upper bracket alongside T1, thanks to Undying’s victory over Evil Geniuses, which denied EG a chance for a tiebreaker. Now, OG will face Team Secret for the first time at a TI event. Historically, Team Secret has had the upper hand with a 61.8 percent win rate against OG, according to datdota.
In another exciting match, fans will witness EG go head-to-head against the veteran Chinese squad, Elephant, in a best-of-one. Both teams’ core players finished in the top six at TI9, and now one roster will be eliminated and sent home in 13th place.
