M19 welcomes new Dota 2 squad led by Funn1k

Russian Esports Organization M19 Expands into Dota 2

M19, a Russian esports organization, has recently made its move into the popular game Dota 2.

Previously known as Albus Nox Luna, M19 rebranded and expanded its roster to include League of Legends players. On January 9, the organization was acquired by Strongbow Investments, leading to its expansion into other esports such as Hearthstone.

M19 Acquires Dota 2 Squad

M19 continues to establish itself in the esports scene by acquiring a Dota 2 team. The squad consists mainly of Russian players, with the standout being veteran Ukrainian former offlaner Gleb “Funn1k” Lipatnikov. Funn1k achieved second place at the International 3 alongside Na`Vi in 2013. However, he was released from Na`Vi in 2015 and has since struggled to regain his former success.

The remaining players on the roster have been playing together for about three months under the name Double Dimension. Although they haven’t found much success, they have participated in minor online tournaments.

Impressive Bootcamp Facility

Since M19’s acquisition by Strongbow Investments, the organization has received significant financial support and has access to an extravagant bootcamp facility. The League of Legends team can practice at Manor Nikolsky, a luxurious mansion near Moscow valued at approximately $22 million.

Looking Towards the International 7 qualifiers

With its Dota 2 roster complete, M19 is expected to compete in the upcoming qualifiers for the International 7.
