Liquid adds Nisha to Dota 2 roster, bidding farewell to MATUMBAMAN

Team Liquid Announces Nisha as Final Member for The International 2022

The storylines at Dota 2’s The International 2022 kept fans on the edge of their seats, with one particular arc following MATUMBAMAN’s final ride. As Team Liquid prepared to fill the void left by his departure, they made a surprising move by nabbing Nisha from Team Secret’s TI11 runner-up roster.

After recently leaving Team Secret, Nisha has now been officially confirmed as the newest member of Team Liquid. Fans can find the confirmation on Team Liquid’s Twitter page.

During the roster shuffle season, Dota fans speculated about who would complete Liquid’s roster. With numerous free agents available, it was difficult to guess. Captain Aydin “iNSaNiA” Sarkohi teased fans on Twitter with a Finnish flag, leading many to believe that Topson would join Liquid. However, Topson later registered under a secondary OG squad.

Nisha’s departure from Team Secret came as a surprise to many. He had been a constant member of their roster, rising from pubstar to one of the most respected players in the world. However, as many young talents under Puppey tend to do, Nisha eventually sought new opportunities with a rival team.

With Nisha joining Team Liquid, the team will undergo a role swap. MiCKe will move to the safe lane, while Nisha will take over the mid lane.

However, Team Liquid will begin the 2023 season without the expertise of coach JerAx. Having decided to return to retirement, JerAx explained that he no longer enjoys the game the same way as before. Despite feeling at home with Liquid, something didn’t click for him, mainly due to his love for Dota.

The finalized roster of Team Liquid for the 2023 DPC season includes:

  • Michael “miCKe” Vu – Position One
  • Michał “Nisha” Jankowski – Position Two
  • Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg – Position Three
  • Samuel “Boxi” Svahn – Position Four
  • Aydin “iNSaNiA” Sarkohi – Position Five
  • William “Blitz” Lee – Coach
