Kiev Major: Faceless Becomes the First Team to Qualify

The First Team to Qualify for the Kiev Major Has Been Decided

Team Faceless, led by Singaporean Dota 2 legend Daryl “iceiceice” Koh, has become the first team to qualify for Valve’s $3 million Dota 2 Major in April. They emerged victorious after a tough battle in the South East Asian regional qualifiers.

The team also includes German carry player Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier and former MVP Phoenix support player and coach Wong “NutZ” Jeng Yih. They faced strong competition from TNC Gaming and Mineski, the top teams from the Philippines, in the playoffs. The series between them went to a deciding third game, but Faceless proved to be the stronger team.

This is the second consecutive time that Faceless has qualified for a Valve Major through the South East Asian qualifiers, solidifying their position as one of the top teams in the region.

Due to South East Asia being awarded two spots at the Kiev Major, TNC and Mineski will have another chance to qualify for the tournament. However, the biggest winner of the qualifier is the Philippines, as they are now guaranteed to have one representative at the event.

Clutch Gamers, perceived as underdogs, are the third team remaining in the qualifier. They had limited success in online cups before the regional qualifiers. It remains to be seen if their momentum will continue throughout the rest of the playoffs.
