K1, Chris Luck, and Wisper consistently achieve top finishes at every Major DPC event

A South American Dota 2 Team’s Remarkable Rise

A South American roster with mostly newer players has made waves in the Dota Pro Circuit. Héctor “K1” Rodríguez, Jean “Chris Luck” Gonzales, and Adrián “Wisper” Céspedes Dobles formed Majestic Esports in April and quickly made a name for themselves.

They qualified for the OGA Dota PIT Minor, the second-to-last Minor of the season, and from there, their journey to success began.

K1’s flashy playstyle and Chris Luck’s ability to complement him during team fights caught the attention of many during the Dota PIT Minor, where they placed fourth.

Despite some roster changes, including team captain Kaue “Dunha1” Camuci leaving, the team rebranded as Team Anvorgesa and continued to compete. They eventually caught the attention of Infamous, one of the bigger teams in the South American region, and joined forces to train for The International 2019 qualifiers.

Remarkably, Team Anvorgesa not only qualified for TI9 but placed in the top eight, securing the highest placement for a South American team in TI history. Despite their young roster and lack of experience compared to other teams, they proved themselves on a global stage.

After leaving Infamous, the team reformed as Team Anvorgesa once again and was signed by beastcoast. Since then, they have had solid performances, finishing fourth at ESL One Hamburg 2019 and qualifying for both Majors in the 2019-20 DPC season. However, they faced tough competition in Invictus Gaming and were eliminated in seventh place in both tournaments.

According to DatDota, the trio of K1, Chris Luck, and Wisper has an impressive win rate of 58 percent over 150 games, while the entire team has a win rate of 64.36 percent over 100 games. These numbers rival some of the most successful teams in Dota history.

With their current position and performance, Team Anvorgesa has a good chance of earning a ticket to The International 10. They hope to break through the top eight barrier and contend for the top DPC spot by the end of the year.
