JoinDOTA, a longstanding Dota 2 tournament organizer, announces closure on March 31

JoinDOTA Bids Farewell to the Dota 2 Scene

JoinDOTA, a long-standing tournament organizer for Dota 2, has recently announced its departure from the scene. This news comes as a surprise to many players who have been following the game, as the website has been a key contributor to the game’s competitive scene since 2011.

From organizing the first-ever International tournament in 2011 to providing a platform for tier two teams and content creators, joinDOTA has played a crucial role in the growth of Dota 2 over the past decade. The website has hosted numerous matches, produced valuable content, and served as a community hub for competitive players.

JoinDOTA has been an essential part of the Dota 2 scene, contributing to the growth of esports in general. Many professionals in the industry today started their careers through joinDOTA, and the website has provided a platform for both young and established talents to showcase their skills.

However, in recent years, joinDOTA faced increasing competition from other tournament organizers, leading to a decline in its prominence. The website partnered with ESL for its final years, and its broadcasting role for ESL One Los Angeles 2020 marked its last major project.

Throughout its 11-year run in Dota 2, joinDOTA achieved significant milestones, including over 1.5 billion page views on its website, 80 million views on YouTube, and coverage of more than 55,000 matches. This legacy will be remembered by the Dota 2 community.

You can find a complete list of joinDOTA’s accomplishments in their official announcement. Many players, managers, content creators, and broadcast talent have shared how joinDOTA has impacted them personally and the scene as a whole.

Although joinDOTA will cease to exist in its current form, its owner, Freaks 4U Gaming, will continue to run Dota 2 projects, including tournaments, beyond March 31.
